About HUSHFIELD
Two more playable stories. Human Story follows Rowan through 50 playable story actions: the search for a missing brother, the rescue, the lab and the escape. Stories of the Fallen adds 50 playable actions about Mara, Jonah, Ellis, Tessa and Owen, the people behind the bodies. Each trail has ten 3D exploration chapters, five actions per chapter: recover an object, repair a signal, shout to guide a person, photograph evidence and escape the Listener, a journal and saved checkpoints. Story text is optional in the journal; no reading screens interrupt the action. The two trails reuse authored sets rather than 100 separate cinematic scenes.
Story Mode — Origin of the Listener. Control the scientist through six 3D chapters. Shout to rescue a human, bring them to the lab, uncover your identity and flee the awakened patient. Write your account in an in-game journal, photograph the page, then take a self portrait. Find the microphone, face the demon, endure a shadowed neural procedure and become the demon that creates the Listener. Bloodless strikes and implied injury; no graphic surgery. Chapter checkpoints, replay and a local evidence album. E to use, F to photograph, Q for selfie view; hold Space to shout, or use an optional microphone.
Survival Mode. A blind creature stalks a moonlit corn maze. Find three field seals and return to the harvest gate while keeping your voice down. Your microphone volume raises the noise bar, deepens the dread, and reveals your last noisy location to the listener. Stay quiet and change paths to survive. A captioned Test 9.57 opening introduces the lab; skip it to enter the field immediately.
Controls. WASD to move, mouse/drag or arrow keys to look, E to use/collect, Shift to run, Space to make noise, P to pause. M opens the field sketch in Survival and evidence in Story. Touch controls supported. Solo play.
Optional microphone. Audio is processed locally and never recorded or sent. Hold Space to make noise without a mic; sprinting also makes noise in Survival.
Optional face cam in Survival. Enable before entering or from Pause. Local expression estimates change scare pacing and atmosphere: scared and bored reactions bring stronger, more frequent shocks. The preview shows happy, sad, scared, mad, meh or bored. Estimates can be wrong; “bored” means a neutral face held for 12 seconds. On PlayDrop, camera access uses a separate camera window: enable it there, keep it open, and return to the game. Images stay on your device and are never uploaded. Hide the preview, adjust the response, or turn the camera off at any time. Ordinary play works without it. Story evidence uses a fictional camera, not your webcam.
