Bollie is a small yellow ball. He is broke, and his wife Mira has left him a note. Roll out into Puddleton and set things right.

Features

  • A retro handheld-style top-down adventure told across handcrafted screens: Bollie's house, the town of Puddleton (Main Street, Town Square, Puddle Park, Residential Lane, three cosy shops for items, weapons and armour, Knick's Knacks, a café and neighbors' homes), meadows, foggy Mumblefen (a stilt village, a reedwalk, a giant boot house, 4 hut shops, a bell puzzle, a sunken post office, a lighthouse and the Bog Baron's pool), the dangerous Mopewood, a hidden grove, a lake, a boss cave, the Wobble Skylift and five icy mountain trails, a Snow Camp of log-cabin shops, an upper mountain past the Summit Gate and the Last Lantern Camp beneath the Hush Spire
  • Mouse-aimed real-time combat in the world. Every monster fights its own way, from twirling Socks to Snow yetis. Tough, telegraphed bosses. The Grudge has an intro, its own arena and music, four telegraphed attacks, a rage phase and a defeat sequence
  • A full inventory (press I or click BAG): weapons, armour, consumables, quest, utility, special and collectible items, with an equipment section showing each weapon's damage per hit and each armour's DEF and Max HP bonus
  • Items with a purpose, all lying in the world: healing Puddle Berries and Mira's Cocoa, Bubble Gum and Courage Tea buffs, the Firefly Lantern (fewer monsters), a Wishing Coin that revives you once, and Grit Seeds and Iron Bran for permanent ATK/DEF.
  • Monsters drop a guaranteed reward the first time you beat each kind
  • 13 weapons that fight differently (a poison spear, an icicle blade that chills, a hook-axe...) and eleven armours with their own DEF, Max HP and effects, all shown on Bollie
  • A funny, strange story that gets more heartfelt as it goes
  • Townsfolk remember what you've done and react when you return
  • A quest journal with main story and optional side quests: objectives, tracking, rewards and completion scenes. Side quests include combat, riddles, a hidden area, a persistent duck, frogs, terrible stew, drowned bells, a lantern thief, a secret chapel, a 20-year-old letter and mountain post-game
  • Main quests unlock strictly in order, one area at a time
  • Autosave, plus manual saves
