About World Shaper: Local Chronicles
A 2D god game on a spinning Earth with real rivers and lakes (the Nile, Amazon, Mississippi, the Great Lakes and hundreds more). Carve rivers, raise islands in any ocean, inland sea or lake, tied to any country, 60+ historic nations (from Ancient Israel and the Ayyubids to the Haudenosaunee and Haida) or theoretical ones like Pirates and brand-new Independent nations, dig lakes that connect to rivers, raise mountains or flatten plains, and place history-changing specials: ancient Roman roads, an unclaimed medieval castle, a UFO crash site, colossal ore deposits, a cache of lost books and artifacts, a two-way portal, a 25 km deep pit and world-famous natural wonders like a grand canyon or a peak taller than Everest.
Every change re-simulates elevation, winds, rainfall, temperature and biomes. Each country's GDP combines the effects of everything you've shaped, with a live world GDP ranking. The built-in Local Chronicle Engine writes a detailed alternate history, and the game's own Micro-LM varies the wording. Optional Enhanced storytelling retells each history with a small open-source language model (Qwen2.5) that runs entirely on your device via WebGPU: no AI service, no text sent anywhere.
Map layers: terrain, political, elevation, biomes, temperature bands and rainfall. Your world and every history autosave, and you can keep named copies.
