Violet Gambit is sleek, dark-mode chess that opens on your games. One minimal list splits every match into Your Turn, Their Turn and Past Games, so you can keep several boards running at once. Play an easy, medium or hard bot, pick a friend from your friend list and send them a challenge, or play a stranger: take an open game already waiting, or make your first move and let the next player looking for a random match answer it. Every game against a person is one shared board held on PlayDrop's game server, so both sides always see the same position and a match keeps going whether or not anyone is online — a challenge or turn notice drops you straight back onto the board. See which friends are around, nudge anyone sitting on a move, tap a profile picture to visit them, forfeit a game you are done with and archive it when it is finished.
