Explore a freshly generated 3D block world of hills, caves, beaches and forests. Mine blocks, collect resources and build whatever you imagine. Pigs and sheep roam the grassy hills. Lakes fill the lowlands, and glowing lava pools and deep lava caves wait for the careless.

Survival

• Chop trees by hand, craft planks, then craft a Wooden Pickaxe (5 planks). Stone, cobblestone, bricks and ores can only be mined with a pickaxe.
• Upgrade your pickaxe: Stone (3 cobblestone + 2 planks) mines iron ore, Iron (3 iron ore + 2 planks) mines the rare diamond ore deep underground, and Diamond (3 diamonds + 2 planks) mines fastest.
• Craft axes (Wooden, Stone, Iron) to chop logs and planks much faster.
• Craft swords (Wooden, Stone, Iron, Diamond) to defeat zombies in fewer hits.
• Your best pickaxe, axe and sword are used automatically and shown next to the hotbar.
• Craft Leather Armor (6 planks), Iron Armor (8 iron ore) or Diamond Armor (8 diamonds) with C. Armor is equipped immediately, reduces damage, persists in saves and is shown in your inventory and HUD.
• Open your inventory with E to see every block you have stored and choose which blocks go on your hotbar.
• Water lets you swim (hold Space to swim up). Lava burns you on contact, so step carefully. Water and lava flow when you dig next to them, and water touching lava hardens it into obsidian, which only an Iron Pickaxe or better can mine.
• Craft an Iron Bucket (3 iron ore). Right click a still water or lava block to fill it, then right click to pour it somewhere else.
• When night falls, zombies come out. Fight back or build a shelter and survive until sunrise.

Save your world

Press Esc or P to pause. From the pause menu you can save your world, toggle sound or save and quit. Your world also autosaves every minute, and Continue Saved World on the title screen brings back your blocks, inventory, tools and position.

Creative

Unlimited blocks, instant mining of any block, free crafting and flying (G), so you can focus on building. Press Z to summon a harmless zombie and try out your swords.
