Create an open-world game with AI

Give players a place they can explore in their own order. Start with one lively neighborhood or island, then connect its landmarks through activities that make traveling worthwhile.

Example prompts

Parcel deliveries

Create a small 3D harbor town where a courier can walk or drive a delivery cart between three shops in any order. Use WASD to move, E to enter or leave the cart and clear mission markers for collecting and delivering parcels. Give each shop a distinctive landmark and include a recovery button if the cart gets stuck.

Use this prompt
Plant discovery

Create a top-down island exploration game where players tap a destination or click to walk between a beach, forest and old lighthouse. Discover five unusual plants in any order and record them in a simple field journal to complete the expedition. Keep the island small, use readable paths and let players revisit every location freely.

Use this prompt
Rooftop exploration

Create a compact third-person city exploration game where a repairer restores three rooftop radio towers in any order. Use arrow keys to move, Space to jump and E to repair, with ladders and bridges connecting five colorful buildings. Make the active tower visible from a distance and return the player safely to street level after a fall.

Make your first playable version

  1. 01

Build a place with clear landmarks

Choose a compact area with a few memorable destinations. Describe roads, paths or sightlines that help players find their way without needing a large empty map.

  2. 02

    Connect movement to activities

Give players reasons to travel, such as deliveries, discoveries or short quests. Decide whether they explore on foot, in a vehicle or both, and explain how they switch controls.

  3. 03

    Explore beyond the intended route

Approach objectives in a different order, leave a mission halfway through and test map edges. Check that the player can recover from getting stuck and still understand what to do next.

Questions before you create

Does an open-world game need a huge map?

No. Freedom to choose where to go matters more than map size. A small area with several routes and meaningful activities gives you something complete to test before adding more neighborhoods or regions.

Can I include walking, driving and missions?

You can describe all three, but begin with one vehicle and a few short missions. Specify how to enter and leave the vehicle, how objectives are tracked and what happens if a mission is interrupted.

Do I need to write code to start?

No. Describe your idea and PlayDrop builds a first playable version in Studio. Play it, then describe the next change you want.

Do I need an account, and what does creating cost?

You sign in before creating. Creation and revisions use credits, and the composer shows the cost before you confirm. Inserting an example only fills the composer; nothing starts until you submit.
